What Was Never Meant to be

Although unfortunate, it is a normal part of an aspiring screenwriter’s life to go through rejection. I am no exception to this, in fact, I have gone through a lot of rejection– if you can call it that. Most of my rejection has never been intentional, but I have, on multiple occasions, lacked a response after getting in contact with someone in the film community.

I once never got a follow up when getting confirmation that I would be working as a screenwriter for my local cinematographer and therefore never actually got the job.

Applying for the same local cinematographer to work as an assistant for their films in whatever way I can help and once again never hearing back from them.

And my final example is when I once reached out to someone who created a post in the film community of Dallas Facebook page, wrote them a whole screenplay so we could compete in a film competition together, and I– you guessed it– got ignored again! I got confirmation that he had read the screenplay and that he was very happy with it and planned to use it and would keep me updated, but he never created the film or messaged me with a follow up. Needless to say, that was heartbreaking to me, but funny enough, that is the screenplay being displayed here for you to read.

If its not getting any use on the big screen, it can at least get use on your screen!
